In June 2016 the Cambridge Centre for Risk Studies brought together leaders and decision makers from businesses, governments, academia and NGOs to explore the meaning of risk culture and its contribution to governance and responsibility in organisations, and to shed light on the new debate over the need for risk culture management: what it is, how effective it can be and on what scale, and whether there is a need for its regulation.

Professor Alexander is working on the idea of regulating risk in financial services and the change in risk culture and risk perception, in particular in light of the financial crises and other market agitations, for a more sound and effective risk management and awareness, as comprehensive reform has been called for in banking conduct and culture.
