Electronic Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law

Background

Electronic Journal of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law (e-JIMEL) published with the backing of the University of Zurich, Faculty of Law, invites rigorous and original work of significance to the discipline of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law broadly defined and accepts articles, essays, book reviews, and student comments for publication.

e-JIMEL is published twice a year - spring and autumn. Its content is accessible via electronic transmission and available for public view.

The e-JIMEL’s editorial board is not constrained by any particular methodological or theoretical framework and the editors wish to encourage a pluralistic approach to the discipline and debate among the different approaches. The editors, however, particularly welcome submissions, which address legal issues in the Middle East and Islamic world, or related to the impact of Islamic law on Muslims living around the world, and offer fresh comparative perspectives. e-JIMEL is committed to the high standards of peer reviewing, to encouraging most promising new work available, and to facilitating communication in the field of Islamic and Middle Eastern Law.
