The dynamics of how economic law developed, are closely intertwined not only with changes in economic forms of action and regulatory structures, but also with changes in political rule and cultural practices. The course will explore these phenomena. The focus will be on the paths of development of the market order, market actors and their interactions across time. This examination has the Middle Ages as its starting point but will focus mainly on the Early Modern Period and Modernity.
The lecture is accompanied by the homepage of the chair and LHA. Here you will find relevant information, event materials, and podcasts.
