I. History of Environmental Law
When was environmental law born? What does sustainability mean from a legal-historical point of view? When was ecology born? Starting with these questions the seminar will analyse theories, conventions, conferences and international, national and cantonal practices of environmental law from a legal-historical and comparative perspective(s). The aim is to trace the history of environmental law, investigating the rise of legal protection of forests, rivers, mountains and animals, scrutinizing the domestic legislations, European regulations and international conventions and agreements.
We will be accompanied by the eminent professor David Schorr (The Buchmann Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv).
